About once every year or so, I get the itch. No, not the kind that can be fixed with topical creams. The itch to create. These are all the successful creations I've had. As you can see, they number in the thousandths of thousands.

LSTDP - Learning in Spike Timing Dependent Plasticity Networks

This was my independent research project looking into whether or not learning behavior is possible through non-Hebbian dynamics neural networks, specifically implementing Eugene Izhikevich's spnet.

There is an introductory report, an addendum, a detailed report, and finally the code in C++.

Tiny Tower

McGraw TowerA graphics project! How novel.
This was my first time using Blender to create a 3D scene in which a familiar scene (for Cornellians anyway) is presented with misapplied depth cues including Height on Plane, Familiar Size, Linear Perspective, and then ruined with Motion Parallax, thereby demonstrating that Motion Parallax is in fact the strongest depth cue you have.

The scene depicted is of a view north of the McGraw clock tower from a snowy Ho Plaza. Quite nice as long as you're not wearing flip flops.

The entire scene was created and rendered in 3 days. Front view, side view, orthographic comparison, and movie (29.7MB)

:( - Ultimate Sadface

The Ultimate Sadface! After a nuclear escalation in intensity and volume of the most depressing emoticon, this was created to trump them all. In this ultimate expression, you can click on the faces on the left side to increase or decrease the rate of unhappy reverse rain.

Remember kids, don't engage in Sadface wars you can't win.

Intro to Cornell (Chinese)

This Flash presentation was created as an introduction to the many aspects of Cornell in Chinese. We made this to commemorate the graduation of some of our classmates to remind them what they will miss.

Room

RoomRoom was a quirky little pixel comic that the people at Pyoko Boards contributed to, each making one strip to follow the lead of the previous. I created a content system to manage the strips, as well as make adding a new one simpler, but as with all these things, most people lost interest and it is now only an archive of the old strips.

Sometimes, people still ask me about it.
